If you're considering a career in healthcare, but aren't sure where to focus, consider three careers that are growing faster than average. Physician assistants, clinical lab technicians and physician therapists earn generous wages and benefits, and take 4-6 years to complete the required education.
Physician Assistants. These professionals take care of diagnosing and creating treatment plans for patients. Typically, you'll need to complete a two-year program, which will earn you a master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies.
Clinical Laboratory Technicians. These professionals are responsible for running tests that aid in diagnosing conditions. The education required for this position is a bachelor's degree in life sciences; however, on-the-job experience may also be acceptable.
Physical Therapists. These professionals help improve the mobility of patients with medical conditions or injuries. Typically, a four-year degree is required, as well as state licensure.
